Iran warns US troops that they will be “fired up” if Americans start working on the ground

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, on Sunday he warned the United States of an attack on the worldthreatening to set American troops “on fire” and intensify attacks on American allies, according to Iran’s official media.

Ghalibaf said the Iranian military is “waiting for the arrival of American troops on the ground to set them on fire and punish their regional allies forever.”

“Our firing continues. Our missiles are ready. Our determination and faith has increased,” he added.

The speaker of Iran’s parliament also explained the US’s 15-point plan Pakistan overtook Iran last week“as their wishes” and said that the Trump administration is trying to do by program what they failed to achieve by force.

“As long as the American people want Iran’s surrender, our answer is clear: far be it from us to accept humiliation,” Ghalibaf said.

Meanwhile, the Revolutionary Guard has threatened to target branches of Israeli and American educational institutions in the region, calling them “legitimate targets” if the US does not condemn the explosion of Iranian universities.

“If the US government wants its universities in the region to be saved, it should condemn the bombing of (Iranian) universities at twelve o’clock on Monday, March 30, in an official statement,” the guard said in a statement, according to the media.

The group called for the evacuation of American and Israeli educational institutions and told students and staff to stay at least one kilometer away.

The monitors also demanded that the US stop Israel from attacking Iranian universities and research institutes, which have been attacked in recent days. The Israeli military admitted that the Iranian universities it struck were linked to weapons development.

American colleges, including Georgetown, New York University and Northwestern, have campuses in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

The American University of Beirut announced on Sunday that it will work remotely for the next two days. President Fadlo Khouri in a statement on the university’s website said that although there is no evidence of threats against the university, “due to extreme caution,” they will switch to the internet.

“Our priority has always been and always will be the safety of our community and the people we serve,” he said, adding, “We are especially committed to teaching, healing, and serving those in need, at all times. We at AUB will not be driven from our work by threats or violence. Not now, and not ever.”

This is the first time that Iran has threatened to attack Israeli and American universities. Many universities around the region have already moved to online teaching since the US and Israeli invasion of Iran started the ongoing war in the Middle East.

In a statement sent to X on Sunday, the US Embassy in Baghdad warned that Iran and allied forces “may aim to target the American Universities of Baghdad, Sulaymaniyah, and Dohuk, as well as other universities that appear to be related to the United States.”

The statement added that Iran and allied forces have already carried out “widespread attacks on US citizens, targets associated with the United States throughout Iraq” and “the Iraqi government has not prevented terrorist attacks against the United States and regional countries from Iraqi territory.”
